I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Cancer has been in my life even before I was born. And while all these stories are not of children, they are the stories of how impactful and how cruel cancer is.

My Grandfather, my father's Father, unfortunately passed when my dad was at a young age due to lung cancer and I unfortunately was never able to meet him. While I never got a real chance to know my Grandpa, I know he will always be here with me. From the stories, I’ve been told and the vintage photos/videos I’ve been shown I know he was kind. He cared about my Grandma more than anything, as well as my Father and my Aunt, and I know that if he was here today he would care about my sister and I just as much.

One of my best friends growing up, who lived just down the street from me battled cancer very early on in his life, and fortunately could win his first fight. I got to see him at school again and I was ecstatic for that short amount of time, because the tumor in his head had come back. He was soon frequently leaving the state to get treatment and we thought he was doing better, until it turned for the worst. He held on as long as he could, and then passed away on his birthday. He was an amazingly brave kid whose moto was "Be Brave" and he will never be forgotten.

Two years ago, my aunt was diagnosed with cancer and it brought great sorrow to our whole family. Aunt Gloria had a beautiful heart and would always care for you. After 2 years of fighting hard with several different treatments her time had come. While we were given time to prepare ourselves, no one is ready for that loss. An Aunt, a Grandmother, a Mother, a Wife, a loved one by all, and one of the sweetest lady at the DMV. She touched heart's wherever she went and she will always remain in those hearts.

Now I need your help! Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
