Who remembers bald Laura??
It's been a lot of years since last I wore my scalp bare, but after several years of reveling in the warmth of my baby mane I'm shaving again (this time, by choice)! Why? Because childhood cancer is a devastating group of diseases and research for childhood cancers is underfunded, and after my mum finished the pretty monumental step of cataloging all of her notes, research, and documentation of our family's cancer experience into a book (Walking on the Ceiling: Reflections on a Life Turned Upside-Down by Pediatric Cancer, shameless plug) earlier this year, helping to raise funds for childhood cancer research feels like the best bookend to our cancer journey.
If you've forgotten what my head looks like & need a reminder, need an excuse to make a potentially life-changing tax-deductible gift to a great cause, or just want to drink beer with some real nice bald folks, come by White Street Brewing Company at 2 (or so) on March 18!
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
