In this early part of my career as a Pediatric Oncologist, I've had the awesome privilege of joining kids and their families on their journey through cancer. Each of their stories are unique, every struggle faced is met with determination and resilience, and every victory won- is one that was fought hard for. Through the St. Baldrick's Foundation, we have the chance to join these kids in the fight against childhood cancer.
My small piece of the puzzle falls into two worlds, spanning both clinical responsibilities in direct patient care at Children's Health Dallas, and the research arena at UT Southwestern. In the lab, I am working with a leading group of researchers to develop a new way to treat acute leukemia in children- this work is supported by a grant through the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
I see first hand how important the mission and work of the St. Baldrick's Foundation is, especially in a time when funding for pediatric cancer research is extremely limited. Not only does the SBF raise crucial funds to continue fueling research to improve outcomes for children with cancer, but it also gives voice to kids and their families to tell their stories of who we are fighting for.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
