I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: TeamRiverBexar

***UPDATE 2/28***

WOW! I am floored by the amount of support I've received and want to thank everyone that has contributed to my goal. I am proud to announce that I have surpassed my initial goal set to shave off my beard but we can't give up now.

I want to put forth another challenge; $2000 for the FULL MONTY! You will see this chin after March 11th; but for me to wear sun screen on my head in Spring, we'll have to push for another $1000. I want to see just how much we can raise to help the futures for children like my son.

Also, bookmark this page as I'll be posting pictures and a 'Post-Shave' photo after the event.

***Original Post***

The importance of raising money towards childhood cancer research could not be understated as the majority of the troubles River faces today is not directly from his disease, but the side-effects of the treatments he’s endured. I’m not questioning any of the decisions Joscelyn and I have made, but some of his treatments we put him through have done him more harm than good and the reality is, only through research will our medical community find the knowledge they need to reduce any unnecessary treatments and find new ones to help kids like River.

Childhood cancer is extremely underfunded and I need your help making this goal. No contribution is too small, and every little bit helps me get closer to that clean shave…and a happier wife  :)

Thank you,

Matthew
