I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Dominic

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Dominic

Help me honor my son, Dominic Liples. He so bravely battled Glioblastoma for exactly 9 months and recently died 8 weeks ago. At first, I had no interest being a Shavee for St Baldrick’s. I shaved my head together with Dominic for eight months when he began to lose his hair from the radiation and chemo-therapy treatments. It was our thing together. Dominic would get excited when we shared our “buzzed head” bond. My first thought was this was my bound with Dominic. I was not going to shave my head without him. I did not want to be constantly reminded when I looked in the mirror that he was gone and our bond was broken.

After some thought, I reconsidered being a Shavee. Dominic is a St. Baldrick’s Honored Kid. I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research and to honor my son! And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation?

There are Shavee kids out there to sponsor. It’s cute, but what is the sacrifice. I know it’s more impressive and sacrificial for a woman to shave her head. However, look at my head of hair. It’s impressive. I’m going for that early 1960’s Elvis and Mid-80s Morrissey look. Donate because of the pompadour. Donate because of Dominic.
