To all my friends and colleagues,
Many of you would have heard by now that after 35 years at Transre I have decided to hang up my pen and explore life away from the reinsurance business. The spark in my mind that first appeared towards the end of last summer had grown into something that couldn't be ignored by the end of fall. The thought of not spending another summer watching the Weather Channel or the balance of the year worrying about when the next Earthquake would strike has grown remarkably appealing making this next cohapter of our lives feel like a natural fit. Linda and I are looking forward to doing all the things we'I've been wanting to do for years but could never quite find the time for. There will hopefully be some travel and exploration involved but for the most part we're looking forward to spending time with family and friends on both sides of the Atlantic as well as making many hopefully successful visits to that most hallowed ground known as Old Trafford!!
Before saying goodbye I have decided to try and re-live one of the highlights of my career by once again shaving my head in support of St Baldricks. My first shave was back in 2010 and at that time I was convinced my hair was never going to grow back and that I would spend the rest of my life follicly challenged. Thankfully that never happened, my hair did grow back thicker than ever which means I can now donate it once again to what is one of the most worthy causes I have ever come across. Please support my effort to raise us$10,000 as well as those of my colleagues, team mates and many thousands of others by donating any amount you would like to help these kids overcome their challange.
With Sincere Thanks
Bob
