I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: DO-2019

Hey there! Do you or someone you know want to have a positive influence in the lives of children that, through no fault of their own, are facing the incredible challenge of fighting cancer AND AT THE SAME TIME make me change my grooming for a period of time?

Well if so, I have a deal for you!

If I reach my goal of $1000 dollars, I will shave my beard off. I know several of my friends and family members (here I'm looking at you Aunt Sue, Missy, and of course my mom) that would like nothing better than for me to look like a presentable young professional with a fresh clean-shaven face.

Now is my beard (and the chance to change the lives of children fighting cancer) worth that $1000? Let's just go through what this beard has accomplished. It was this beard that not only got me through the final years of undergrad, enduring hours upon hours of research and benchwork, but also helped assist others in the emergency room back in Hattiesburg. This beard jockeyed for interviews and eventually got me into medical school! Heck, this beard is even a veteran of two years of said schooling, board prep and weekly exams all. We're talking about a beard that has seen over 10,000 hours of medical training. This is one Expert Beard!!

So in trade for this prized and beloved beard I'm asking that you throw a few bucks to the children and those who would look to help them through trying times. I'm asking you to save lives. And all you have to do is force me to shave my beard with your money.

I'm also going to add a few stretch goals if we reach the initial goal of $1000. The first one? You force me to keep my beard shaved off for a whole year at the $1250 mark. Second? At $1500 I will take the hit and have to keep ONLY A MUSTACHE for an entire year. If you are the one who takes me over that hump, I'll even let you dictate how I have to style that mustache. Finally, if we reach $2000 I will also have to rock lambchop sideburns for that year.

C'mon, make me have a silly(ier) face for a year and help generations of children to come with your donation.

Level 1: $1000 for beard shaved
Level 2: $1250 for beard shaved for a year
Level 3: $1500 for mustachioed for a year (with final donation dictating style of mustache)
Level 4: $2000 for lambchop sideburns + Level 3 Mustache Commitment
