I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research - again!  I got a good response last year, raising less than my goal but more than I really expected, and this year my previous experience makes me less timid about the whole process.

I am thrilled to report that Kendall, the niece whose thyroid tumor finally kicked me into doing this, is still with us - she had to travel from Arizona to MD Anderson in Houston for some treatment last year, but so far so good!  Let's keep that positive momentum going!

The "honored kid" I chose is not one I ever knew personally, but probably knew better than many of the other children I allow at the periphery of my life, thanks to blogger/author Ferrett Steinmetz:
