I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team BJC

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team BJC

Why I am I doing this? I am a cancer survivor. Stage 1 renal carcinoma. It's easier to call it kidney cancer. Cancer also took my mother, and my grandmother and leukemia took my brother. I have watched them go through treatment. Then when you think of a young child having to go through that, it rips my heart out. I had a good childhood. I was free from illness. I could ride bikes, and do all the kid stuff that I wanted. But to think that these kids don't have the ability to do what they want just brings tears to my eyes. And in this new year, I want to actually do something, not just say something. It's easy to make facebook posts supporting causes, but who knows if cancer will come back to rear it's ugly head at my door step. To quote Iggy Pop, "All I have is my name".

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
