I'm one of the lucky ones, I won my brief battle with cancer.
Back in 2015, I was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia which is a rare, slow-growing cancer of the blood in which your bone marrow makes too many B cells. It was successfully treated by 5 straight days of chemotherapy, followed by several months of being extremely germophobic while my immune system was recovering.
I'm now shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research so that there can be more success stories!
My diagnosis came about when I was an adult, and it scared the heck out of me and my family. As bad as that anxiety was, I don't want to imagine what it would be like if the diagnosis were for one of my children.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So this year I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
