On December 15, 2015 my son Joshua was diagnosed with cancer, specifically a grade 4 brain tumor known as pineoblastoma. First and foremost I want to start by saying Joshy, as my champ likes to call himself, is a true warrior. Let's remember our own challenges and understanding that no matter what we personally feel, we truly never understand the severity, the damage and pain others endure personally. Therefore in the case of my son, it's incredible how through all the treatment he received with chemotherapy and radiation, and continues to receive chemo, his demeanor which is joyful, playful, talkative, adventurous, creative and most importantly loving and caring towards others, continues to shine. He is my hero. For Joshy, a tumor which started a few months ago the size of a GOLF BALL has now reduced to less 1 cm! We're very grateful and optimistic that he has reacted well to the treatment so far and I believe he will continue to be very "brave" as he tells us everyday and fight the "bad guys" in his brain which are little now. Although we love our son and would love to raise donations to fund cancer research that will help our son, we also want to raise awareness and continue finding research for children including my son to strive during their entire lives and this battle with cancer. Knowledge is key and such as all the support groups and forums that have been key for my son and his mom to gain valuable information, nutritional goals that have allowed him the best opportunity to to win this battle, every child deserves the same and I believe these issues need more exposure.
Donations will support the MaxLove Project fund through St. Baldrick's to research how food, diet, and nutrition affect cancer growth! So thank you so much for your time and contributions, and let's stay optimistic and positive that my champ will win this battle.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
