I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I was devastated when I lost my hair as a teenager. I didn't feel very feminine and I hid at every chance I had. Now in remission for a little over four years, I cherish my hair and I feel like it has once again become a part of who I am. When I think about how sensitive it is to lose your hair at such a young age, I remember how I felt; destroyed. I am not my hair. I am still me with and without it. I am honored to raise awareness and fight against childhood cancer and I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know just how beautiful they are, with or without your hair.

I lost my mother in law to malignant breast cancer on August 17, 2014. She was only 56 years old. Rest in peace Marie Teresa Ramirez. You were a fantastic mother to my husband, and an overall amazing woman. You will forever be missed.
