I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded.
So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
This cause impacts me on a personal level. My 12-year-old son William was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 15 months old. He suffered through a year of chemotherapy, surgeries and hospitalizations. There were many days when myself and my wife, Lori, weren't sure if William would make it. But thanks to amazing doctors and nurses, loving family and friends and a lot of prayer, William made it. On May 23, William's 13th birthday, he will celebrate 11 years in remission.
William is an amazing young man with a heart of gold. He loves baseball, roller coasters, swimming, riding on his grandfather's motorcycle and being a big brother to his twin sisters, Megan and Marissa.
William would not be here today without research paid for by organizations like St. Baldrick's. My son is my hero and my inspiration. Myself and my family know how lucky we are to have William in our lives. We feel an obligation to give back to try and give the gift of life to other children who may have to battle this horrible disease.
With William set to celebrate 11 years in remission, my hope is to raise $1,100, or $100 for each year he has been cancer free.
