I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
Hey Everyone,
You all may know about the beard. I decided last year I wanted to do something different besides my normal $25 donation to St. Baldrick's and try and raise some money. The hair on my head may not grow as thick as it used to so I am offering up my beard. I chose to do this and stick to it because of one very late night (or early morning) at the Children's Hospital in Chicago. Kayla and I were leaving the hospital with Lincoln and happy to be on our way out as we saw 2 parents carrying their daughter in. It wasn't the look on their child or how she was clearly very sick that hit me. It was the controlled walk that they had with the thousand yard stare on their faces. They were rushing but did not want to run even though you could tell they were trying very hard not to. I decided at that moment that if I could help in any way possible I would.
Thanks for helping out with this and I will be donating $20 every week until the day of the event.
