Dear Friends, Family & Supporters,
I’m shaving my head to raise money for children’s cancer research!
First, to honor the memory of my friends’ daughter Krista, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at age 2. In spite of many challenges, Krista grew up to be a kind, funny, positive, and hard-working young woman. Unfortunately, at age 21, her cancer returned, and she passed away about a year later. I think of her often, and dedicate this fundraiser to her memory.
Second, to support the work of my dear friend, Dr. Karen Wasilewski-Masker and her team at the Aflac Cancer Center. Few people have the strength, compassion, resilience, and endurance required to do such work, and I truly admire my friend (and her colleagues) for choosing this path.
And, finally, for anyone battling cancer who has had to shave their head out of necessity instead of choice: I do this to honor and support your fight.
Any amount you can contribute toward children’s cancer research would be greatly appreciated! If you happen to be in Atlanta on March 11th, please stop by Fado’s in Buckhead. If not, I’m sure there will be lots of pictures. Thank you! Greta Keltz
