I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: ChiefsForACure

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!   Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Please help me raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer so no more children have to suffer.  Our team, ChiefsforaCure, has so many kids to honor. Please consider the story  of Survivor Leena Ahmed, who will be 7 years cancer free this year. Leena is in 8th grade with my sister Hannah and was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 7. She underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible and her parents were told she had a 50 percent chance of surviving the surgery. They were also told, that without the surgery, she would die. After the surgery, Leena had to go through chemo and radiation and missed a lot of school. She endured the side effects of the drugs which included nausea, fatigue, complete hair loss and discoloration of her skin. She was unable to see a lot of her friends for fear of infection and when she did go to school, she had to wear a mask. She also had a port in her for the administration of the medicine.  Today, Leena is on hormone growth therapy and is on 2 different therapies to help her grow as big as her classmates.  She has hearing aids and continues physical therapy to help her walk.  She is looking forward to 8th grade graduation and High School!

The Ahmed family are close personal friends of my family.  In 2014, my mom shaved her head in honor of Leena and I shaved my head at the last minute as well.  We raised almost 12,000 for St. Baldricks in her honor!
