I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: San Antonio Area Leatherheads

Welcome to Little Reid's Leatherheads, our Firefighter brotherhood and family team! If you are looking for the old Team SAFD this is it. After honoring Reid last year we had many requests from firefighters from other departments to join our team so it only seemed fitting to make it a team for all firefighters to come together for this great cause! In fact we have added another new twist. For each fire department that has 5 or more (a full stage of) shavees that raises $600 or any size dept group which raises $1000 we will add your dept logo to the team Tshirt! (Just be sure to send a message to team captain Josh Downes to inform the list of those shavees to account for and a single-color logo. As of right now team T-shirts are pending on approval of a T-shirt sponsor.) We look forward to another great year of our brotherhood (and family) participating in this years event and this great cause. Last year our Team SAFD: Team Reid raised $ at the event to help fund childhood cancer research! I was so thrilled when I later heard of funds being granted right here in San Antonio as well for research and treatment centers! Once again we have chosen Reid as our honored kiddo this year. Reid is the son of our brother Ruben Smith from Bulverde Fire Dept. Reid was diagnosed with cancer at a young age. Reid's mother is the founder of The Little Fighter Foundation as well, a no profit which works closely with the fire department and within the brotherhood. As usual firefighters are also granted a special rate as shavees of only $25. Friends and family (non-firefighters) may also join our team with a fundraising minimum of only $50. You may donate this amount to yourself at sign-up or fundraise it. Of course we encourage strong fundraising to help us reach our goals and help children like Reid in their battle with cancer. We are hoping once again to also have team Tshirts available first come-first serve at the event. We look forward to seeing you there Saturday March 12th at Alamo Beer Company. The festivities begin at noon! Specific shave times will be emailed once closer to the event. Thank you for joining or donating to our team and we look forward to seeing you there and watching as our awesome firefighter family shaves their heads to go bald for this great cause!
