UPDATE ON DONATIONS:
I JUST MADE MY PROMISED MATCHING DONATION OF $1,000 FOR THE FIRST $1,000 OF DONATIONS RECEIVED. THE TOTAL ABOVE DOES NOT INCLUDE CHECKS FOR $1,000 AND CASH OF $20 I HAVE RECEIVED AND WILL TURN IN ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. SO, WE ACTUALLY HAVE $2,770 RAISED, AND I KNOW MORE DONATIONS ARE ON THEIR WAY. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING US PUSH THIS BEYOND OUR $5,000 GOAL.
THANK YOU.
I'm shaving my head (or at least half of it) to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
I will have my head shaved at an event on May 1 at The Quarry Senior Living located at 415 SE 177th Avenue in Vancouver, WA. The event runs from 3:30 to 7:00 PM, and the head-shaving will take place between 4 and 6. I'll let you know if a specific time is scheduled later. HOWEVER, I will shave only half my head if I don't make my fund-raising goal of $5,000. Please help me be balanced for once in my life by contributing to this great program for kids so I can have my whole head be shaved.
I invite all who can make it to the event to celebrate the fund-raising efforts, to honor the kids and to witness the change in my appearance. It's all for fun and the serious business of trying to eradicate cancer in kids.Team Milestone was formed to help in this cause and to honor both Grant Jensen, who was a student at Cascade Middle School here in Vancouver, and Chris Simangunsong, the son of one of our caregivers at Caley Ridge Assisted Living in Englewood, Colorado. Chris has Stage 4 Glioblastoma and is a candidate for trial programs to treat him.
Please help as much as you can, and all amounts are helpful.
