I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hey Friends and Family!

I'm going to SHAVE MY HEAD! I have been thinking about doing it since last year and even cut 15 inches of hair off just to see how I would feel about it.
WHY I WANT I WANT TO DO IT:
The first time I thought about shaving my head was when I saw that my really good friend, Zack Kingsak, do it last year. I was on my way to his room and thought “maybe I should do it.” But I quickly thought “no, because my hair is too important to me.” Then I realized there are people out there whose hair is even more important to them and yet illness forces them to shave their hair.I have a choice to shave my head, yet people with cancer don’t.
Not only do they have to go through physical pain and emotional pain, but some also have to worry about feeling not as beautiful as they would like. Even though shaving my head is nothing compared to what children with cancer have to go through, it is my small way of standing with them and supporting them in this terrible situation.
Personally, a dear friend recently passed away due to brain cancer. Seeing the difficulties she had to go through made me more motivated to follow through with this cause. I want to shave my head in honor of her.
THE CAUSE:
I will be shaving my head through St. Baldrick’s Brave the Shave! My goal is to raise at least $500! The money goes to help fund research for children with cancer. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and go towards this important cause – thank you all so much!
