I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Parker is a son, brother, and friend filled with spunk, smiles, and a zest for life. In June 2006, 4 year-old Parker went from sliding down a waterslide one day to being diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma the next. At diagnosis, he had a softball-sized tumor in his abdomen as well as cancer in his bones and bone marrow. Parker underwent seven rounds of chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor, radiation, two stem cell transplants, localized radiation, and accutane therapy. His days were tough, but he showed us the courage and strength to fight with all he had and persevere through the trying times. One glance of his smile and the twinkle in his eye would light up a room, and through all of his treatments, he remained a bright, shining star to all who knew him. Following a sudden relapse in October 2007, Parker became an angel in heaven on November 7, 2007, just six days after turning 6 years old. He fought to the very end, never giving up and always making his family and friends proud.
Parker touched and inspired each one of us in some way, and we'd like to give back and honor his life and others who fight every day. Parker Power will remain in our hearts FOREVER!!
