Every 3 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. Ten years ago, I was one of those children. I am one of the lucky ones. Because of new treatments developed through research, I am a survivor. I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research so that other kids can have hope too.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
I've chosen to honor my friend, Abby, when I shave my head this year. She is a friend of mine from camp. Abby and I both had brain tumors and Abby is still battling hers. This will not be the first time I've been bald but at least this time it's by choice. Abby and I both have the scars to show our battle. When I shave my head for St. Baldrick's, mine will be clearly visible again but that's ok -- I just think of them as a sign of strength.
Thank you for donating! Every little bit helps to fund the research to wipe out childhood cancer.
