I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Most of us have unfortunately been touched by a family member or close friend battling cancer. As difficult as it is for an adult to deal with, image the emotional pain a family feels as they watch their child fight this terrible disease. Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. For the past 10 years my Fire Department has sponsored a St. Baldrick's event in order to raise money for cures. Last year we raised over $40,000, taking our yearly combined total to $250,000. Our goal this year is $50,000 in order to reach the yearly combined total of $300,000. This is an extremely tall task and this is where I need your help! I don't usually reach out and ask for donations, however, this year is different. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. I'm asking you to take the $10 you saved in gasoline costs last week and donate it to this great cause. Better yet, there are four weeks until this event, donating $10 from last week and $40 you will save between now and the event is a small sacrifice compared to the sacrifice these families and children experience throughout their battle with this terrible disease. I'm shaving my head to show the kids that I care and that bald heads are nothing to be ashamed of. I am donating and raising money for childhood cancer research! Please help me raise money for cures by making a donation :)
