Dear Family and Friends,
Every 3 minutes. That’s how often a child is diagnosed with cancer in our world. It’s an unbelievable statistic, but over the last few months it has seemed very real to me.
Last May, my good friend Bailey was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma. Bailey is really more like family than a friend—his dad and my dad have been friends for 40 years, and our moms are like sisters.
I was shocked when I heard the news. It didn’t make sense. I never thought my 13-year-old friend would have cancer. He’s the guy I go to the beach with and battle on XBox, not someone who has to be in a hospital for weeks at a time. But before I knew it, I was visiting my friend in the oncology wing at DuPont and watching how his family’s whole life was changing.
Bailey is in the middle of his treatment plan, and doing well. I’m so proud of how strong he’s been so far. With all my heart, I hope he has a full and smooth recovery.
We all need to work together to make sure children like my friend Bailey have the resources they need to get better. Many of you have been so generous in the past with your gifts to St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and it is with much gratitude that I ask for your continued support.
When I step into the barber’s chair at my sixth St. Baldrick’s event on March 14th, I do so to honor Bailey and the strength of all cancer patients.
Thank you.
Love,
Trevor
