I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: BB's Buddies

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: BB's Buddies

In 2014, our friends Laura & Trey lost their little girl, Briellynn ("BB"), to pediatric cancer. I saw that vibrant little girl, who had so kindly played with my little boy just a few weeks earlier, laying so still during her funeral and my heart got angry, enraged, at the beast that is cancer. No mama or papa should have to bury their baby.

Matt and Christy, friends of a dear friend of mine, gave birth in December 2014 to little Amelia, who began her life earthside fighting a very rare type of infantile cancer. She's in treatment and her parents and sisters are fighting the good fight alongside their tiny, little girl.

While I'm a firm believer in positive thoughts, prayers, and "good vibes," no good vibes can defeat pediatric cancer like our dollars can. I'm asking you to consider giving both, good thoughts and dollars, toward this event.

Why shaving heads? One of BB's endearing qualities was her lovely head of thick, curly hair. Her parents were coming to terms with her losing it during treatment, but the cancer had progressed and BB passed before she could begin. We're shaving our heads in solidarity with all the little guys and gals who have to lose theirs to beat these awful diseases we know collectively as childhood cancer.

Spare the cash for a coffee, or spare the cash for a Mercedes Benz... or anything in-between. We are grateful in your support.
