Hello everyone! I am participating in the St Baldrick's Foundation for the 4th year in a row and can't wait to shave my head in order to raise money for pediatric cancer research!
This year I will be raising money in honor of an extremely brave and strong little boy named Chris. Chris and his family live in my neighborhood and even though I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Chris yet, I have been following his story for about a year now. My family and I were introduced to his story by mutual friends and have been amazed at how much he has gone through. Chris is the same age as my daughter, which really makes his situation and what's he's going through really hit home. My family and I can only imagine what Chris and his family are going through on a daily basis, so we continue to help them in any way we can and always keep them in our prayers.
Chris is a huge fan of mine, I admire him because of how well he’s handled this difficult situation in life and honor him for his strength and courage with upcoming treatments. Chris has to continually fight for his life, treatment after treatment and at the same time is trying to live the life of an energetic and active little boy. My heart truly goes out to him and his family and I hope to see that little guy out of his home playing with friends very soon! I know Chris and his family have another long year ahead of them and I would like to wish them the utmost success with the upcoming treatments. I feel there is a tremendous amount of hope and love around them and I know that will help them get through this difficult time with positive results!
I hope by reading through Chris’s story and many like his, this helps you understand how important St Baldrick’s and other supporters are to pediatric cancer research. Your support for people that aren’t as fortunate, is extremely helpful and necessary to aid these families through the hardest times in their lives. Even though I haven't personally dealt with these difficult and unimaginable times, I take this cause very serious and you should too!
So I ask all of you to take a minute out of your busy day and make a donation from your heart, so many lives depend on it. Please do what you can to help support these wonderful children going through this difficult time. Please forward this to your friends and family, we can use all the support! I also encourage all of you to come to the event at Palmer Place in downtown LaGrange, it's a wonderful event for all ages and you'll be able to watch all of us go bald for the cause! Even if times are tough and you aren't able to donate, please come and experience this special event first hand.
Thanks for your support!
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
