I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Howdy~ Below is the official paragraph regarding what St. Baldrick's is about. But the question that I get asked every year is "Why?" Why do I agree to ask people to donate money so I'll shave my head? What's my connection? How have I been affected? Who am I helping? In the past I've always said I was doing it for all of the kids. I really don't have a personal connection to this, thankfully THIS has not touched the families and children within my circles. Well, this past year I met Owain W. at an event and he impressed the socks off of me! He was honest, he was humble, he was (is) funny and he knows what he's talking about. St. Baldrick's has made a difference in his life, and he has made a difference in the lives of everyone that he interacts with, and he made an impression on me, so much that, even though I only met him once in October, I thought of him when I signed up for this years event. So. I'm doing this for Owain. I'm doing this for all of the kids in my life and for their families. I'm doing this one very small thing because it makes a huge difference. You can help. I'm always looking for donations. If you can't donate, share in the event and get your head shave! Help spread the word. Tell everyone than I love kids more than I like hair~! I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
