I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Shaving Irish

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Shaving Irish

We are once again continuing our fight against pediatric cancer. My commitment and resolve to help find cures for children's cancer grows each year (and lucky I still have some hair to shave!)

My participation started 6 years ago as a tribute of solidarity for two close friends battling cancer. My support for St. Baldrick's has brought about many experiences to further heighten my commitment; from doctors on the front line of cures and treatments, tours of children's hospital, meeting children who are battling the disease and some that are grateful each day for the treatments that put cancer into remission, but nothing as close as my own mother's battle with Ovarian Cancer.
She fought with determined strength, grace and dignity until the very end. During her fight she couldn't fathom young children fighting cancer and enduring harsh treatments. My mother, my biggest supporter, would get excited every year I did St. Baldrick's. She knew better than anyone what cancer does to loved ones and what a big impact St. Baldrick's made in the progress of cures and advocacy. It is with enormous love, respect and adoration that I dedicate this year's campaign in her honor.
There have been amazing advancement in cancer treatments in recent years. St. Baldrick's is a catalyst in research that is advancing cures and treatments. Many of the raised funds are supporting doctors and researches at a hospital near you. St. Baldrick's is the second largest not-for-profit funding body next to U.S. Government research. St. Baldrick's is virtually all volunteer run so a great portion of every dollar contributed goes directly to finding cures.
I ask that you please join me this year in making a donation to St. Baldrick's, sharing my message through your social networks, joining our team and fundraising with us, or just coming out the day of the event. The outpouring of support and encouragement inspires all of us each and every year.
I truly appreciate all your support. Thank you for all that you do help support this cause.
