I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hello friends! I'm Sandra and this spring semester, I'm raising money for pediatric cancer research by shaving my head. Have you ever thought about how much of our world that science can't explain quite yet? Sure, humans have invented the iPhone, ways to fly, machines that can compute a single output out of billions of possibilities and other extraordinary things, but there are still a lot of mysteries that roam the earth. Some of the most terrifying mysteries are within our own bodies. When I was little, other kids around me dreamed of "curing cancer", but now as a Biomedical Engineering student, I understand how difficult such a task can be. There has to be research funneled into imaging and detection of cancer, targeting specific cancer cells, ways to monitor the progress of treatment, trials, etc. It's really quite daunting. Anyway, that's basically my justification for why you should fund medical research. But why fund me? Please fund me because I love my hair. I've been dyeing it for a few years now and I love experimenting with colored hair. Additionally, I have genetically #blessed hair that withstands a lot of bleaching, so through all this experimentation my hair is still quite nice. This will be the first time I am cutting my hair in 1 3/4ths years (my last documented haircut? Before I started college), so I'm getting the haircut of my life. I have never had short hair before, but I'm willing to deal with the pixie cut for a while if it means that a kid somewhere out there can have life-saving treatment. I don't know very much sacrifice, but I'm hoping that this will teach me to appreciate what I have. I'm not asking for a whole bunch of money because I know many of you reading this are poor college students, so even $5 (just one Starbucks drink out of your budget!) really helps. God bless all of you!
