I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Highlands Heroes

"I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!"    That's the popular first line that everybody gravitates towards.  And it's true.  I AM shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research.  But I'm doing it for many more reasons than that. I'm doing it because I want to show solidarity to those kids who are dealing with problems at an age when most of us are still learning how to ride a bike.  I'm doing it because as a teacher, helping all children is something I try to live by.  I'm doing it to lead by example for our ever-growing team of Highlands Heroes to show them that we can make a difference every day.  I'm doing it because Kid President tells me to go out and be awesome. I'm doing it because it's an easy thing to do and I truly believe it's the right thing to do.  But mostly, I'm shaving my head because I want to help.  I didn't go to medical school.  I don't work for a non-profit.  I can't be on the front lines every day working to help kids fight diseases that we're still trying to figure out.  Until we have a handle on this situation, I'm shaving my head to fund research and treatment for pediatric cancers. Please consider donating-- thanks for your time!
