Before she was even one year old, my niece Madeline was diagnosed with cancer. She pulled through (she's a fighter, that's for sure!) but the whole experience had a profound effect on Pete and Beth, her parents and my brother- and sister-in law, as well as on my entire extended family. If you'd like to know more about their experience, you can read about it on Pete's page, here. Pete's said it all better than I ever could.
This year I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research. 2015 is the first year I participated. I've wanted to participate in the past but was only able to do so financially. I'm doing this because no child, and no child's family, should have to go through what Maddie and her family went through, and because childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. I ask you all to support the St. Baldrick's effort to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Please make a donation. If not to me then to somebody else, or even give directly. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
