I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: McMullan's Irish Pub

I'm raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Our daughter Rachel was diagnosed with tumor of the salivary gland in 2002.   Her cancer was in an adult form and very rare.  The tumor had invaded her facial nerve and all of its branches.  Removal of the facial nerve would result in facial paralysis but necessary.  A team of surgeons would remove the tumor and then graft a nerve from her ankle.  The surgery was a success and she continues to be seen every six months.

We are so grateful to her doctors and everyone who has continued to pray for her.  She was 8 when diagnosed and will be turning 21 this August!
