I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

In 2013 my father Charles W Ford joined Team Katherine and proudly shaved his head.  He was incredibly touch by the people he met that day, so proud of the money he had raised.  He loved children, devoted his life to his children, grandchildren, neices, nephews and to any child who needed a smile.  He felt so fortunate to have raised a healthy family.  He planned to make ST. Baldrick's a yearly tradition. Sadly he passed away unexpectedly 7/31/13, the day he was welcomed through Heaven's gates I vowed that I would go in his place for 2013.
What started as a tribute to my hero, my mentor... My dad turned into so much more for me.  I feel very fortunate to have lived an active, happy life.  If raising money by being bald for a couple months can make a difference in even one child's recovery or bring us a little closer to a cure, what a gift that would be.
I am shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
