I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
I watched her hair drop to the cement, and I realized how trivial my own hair was...it had become something so important to who I was that perhaps I lost sight of who I should be. Her bravery inspired me, her beauty astonished me, so I decided that I wanted to be a little more like her. I wanted to put others before myself. I wanted to be brave. My conviction to shave off something that was so important was so strong, so I followed my heart and let my own hair fall to the cement, in the name of everyone who has lost someone they love to cancer.
I kind of did this backwards. I was so moved by my sister, Emily, that I felt convicted to shave my head as well. I would love to make my own contribution to this wonderful foundation though, which is why I opened my own donation page.
