I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Hair For Care

Join us in our support of the "SU2C-St. Baldrick’s Pediatric Cancer Dream Team" ! This past year, Gil has pledged not to cut his hair in an effort to grow awareness and support in the fight against childhood cancer. Gil is pleased to have now grown 13 inches of beautiful black hair that will be donated and turned into hair pieces for children battling cancer. In this effort, we are asking for your support as well. The team is hosting a Saint Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser where Gil has pledged to completely shave his head when we cut his hair. We hope to raise $150 for each of thirteen inches of hair that Gil is donating. Why is your support needed? 1. Childhood cancer isn't just one disease—there are over a dozen types of childhood cancer and countless subtypes, each requiring specific research to develop the best treatment for every child. 2. But in the last 20 years, only two new drugs have been specifically developed to treat children with cancer. 3. Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget is directed to childhood cancer research. All donations are being made to support the SU2C-St. Baldrick’s Pediatric Cancer Dream Team: Immunogenomics to Create New Therapies for High-Risk Childhood Cancers http://www.standup2cancer.org/dream_teams/view/su2c_st_baldricks_pediatric_cancer_dream_team Thank you very much for visiting the page and showing your support to end childhood cancer. Saint Baldrick’s Foundation: http://www.stbaldricks.org http://www.standup2cancer.org/partners/view/st._baldricks_foundation Worldwide, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. And in the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined. http://www.stbaldricks.org/why-we-exist Stand Up to Cancer: http://www.standup2cancer.org/ http://www.standup2cancer.org/pediatrics This is where the end of cancer begins: when we unite in one unstoppable movement and Stand Up To Cancer.
