I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I've always received compliments for my long, blonde, thick hair and I always thought I don't think I could ever lose it but what about the kids who don't have a choice? Then I went to the Starbucks on Peace Street and one of my favorite baristas participated in a St Baldricks event and she shaved her head. I thought "Wow, she is so brave to cut her long, beautiful hair" and then I realized that she wasn't only brave but she was selfless. I thought back to when my grandmother had cancer and how she had to shave her head. Unfortunately, she passed away last year but I know that she would want me to make this selfless sacrifice and shave my head because at the end of the day hair doesn't make you who you are... your heart does!

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
