Round 3:
I’m excited to be a shavee for the third time this year and looking for your support. I went to the St. Baldrick’s event 3 years ago to support two friends that were shaving their head, and I got wrapped up in the moment and ended up shaving my head. that day Initially, it was kind of a scary thought as I waited in line to go up on stage - - i.e. what if i had a weird shaped head, what will my friends say, what will my co-workers say….and WHAT IF IT DOESN’T GROW BACK??? I received a lot of encouragement and support and plus seeing my two friends getting up and doing it, I said there is no turning back. Turns out, I actually like the bald look. I got some interesting reactions -- since my mom had no idea , i walked into the house and her jaw dropped as she gasped for air, and covered her mouth a co -worker walked in to my office and completely caught her off guard as she jumped back and blurted “Oh MY GOD”, and my favorite, my 4 year old nephew just started laughing hysterically and then kept pointing at my head. The only downside is that people have the urge to rub my head and think i’m some sort of lucky charm…. it hurts!!
I finally got my schedule figured out and signed up for St. Baldricks 2014 and looking for your support. I’ll be shaving my head, along side with Anil , at Ri Ra on March 13th. If you’re around and want to come out to the event, would love to have an the support at the event. But i am shaving my head to raise awareness and money to help fund cancer research for children. … i graciously ask you to SHOW ME THE MONEY !!!
thanks guys!!
