I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Many of you know that 3 years ago, I shaved my head to raise cancer as a result of watching one of my best friends deal with being diagnosed with cancer and all that comes with it. My experience that first time was extraordinary and I knew that I would do it again at the right time. I've been growing my hair out for the past couple of years so that in addition to the money I manage to raise, I can also donate my hair to Locks of Love so that it can be used for wigs made for cancer patients. This year, I'm doing this in honour of two very special people. The first is my Aunt Eileen who was diagnosed in January and is currently fighting brain cancer. The second is Nathan Gentry. Nathan is no longer with us on this earth... but he is one of far too many children who had/have to battle cancer. As a passionate advocate for the youth of our community, I was especially touched when I saw Nathan's story. Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We must all do everything we can to give kids a better chance for a cure. To support me on behalf of these very special kids, please click "Make a Donation" above, or donate by mail or phone. Thank you for your support!
