Throughout my life I, like so many others, have been affected by cancer having lost many family members as well as dear friends. I have always wondered what I could do to sacrifice and to show my love for them. Last year my 12 year old niece stepped up and decided to shave her head for St. Baldrick’s. After my niece decided to do it, my 9 year old son said he wanted to do it as well. He was so excited after the experience and realizing such a little dead could help in such a big way; he asked me if he could go without a haircut until next year’s St. Baldrick’s Day.
Throughout the year he has continued to talk about shaving his head and asking me to join in the efforts to raise money and shave my head alongside him. As I thought about his request, I could not think of any reason not to join him. In fact I could think of dozens of reasons why I should join him. I am excited to see how we can work together to raise money to help children that have had to give up so much because of a disease they don’t deserve to have. Together, my son, myself and you, can make a difference for these kids.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
