Help me go Bald for Childhood Cancer!
Yes, you read correctly!
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
These kids are very courageous in their fight against cancer, but it tough for them. Instead of having a “normal” childhood with friends like Susie next door or classmate Jimmy, theirs are Doctors and nurses. Instead playing on a playground for hours on a sunny day, those days are spent in a recover room after Chemo treatment. Instead of sliding down a slide – they are in a Radiation chamber.
Most of them ask their parents ‘Why am I different?” or “Doesn’t God love me?”
We need to show them that being different is OK and Yes, indeed God love them even more because they are different. We need to give them hope, love and encouragement. Let’s tell the kids who have lost their beautiful hair to treatment that SMOOTH is COOL!!
That’s where St. Baldrick’s Foundation comes in- They determine the most promising research to fund and create funding priorities to make the greatest impact for children with cancer. Funding supportive care research to improve the quality of life for patients and survivors, Providing hospitals the funds to open high-impact clinical, Training the next generation of researchers.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
