I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Blarney Baldies

It's that time again! On Saturday, March 15th I will be shaving my head along with hundreds of other "St. Baldrick's Heroes" in an effort to raise money to fight the 12 types of aggressive childhood cancers. 98% of the money raised by St. Baldrick's events across North America is put into research grants for the amazing doctors and scientists on a mission to end this horrible disease and it's various strains. That obviously means that with all of the millions of dollars raised, a meager 2% is used to promote and manage around 1,500 events in the US and Canada! No small feat, to say the least. This will be my fifth year as a volunteer and third year as a shavee, and will be joined by my boys. This event has become something so special to our family because it reminds us all that we are so blessed to have three healthy boys and take it personally to get out and help those children who haven't been so lucky. I have once again chosen to honor Noah C from Washington Township. Noah is the same age as my London and has been battling Neuroblastoma for about half of his young life. He doesn't give up, no matter how many times he has to have painful treatments and procedures. I don't know how he finds the strength to power through some days, but that's exactly what Noah does and it's nothing short of amazing. And to see him smile when he is blown away by the hundreds of strangers who give their day, their money and their hair is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. So please donate if you have the resources. Last year I was astounded by the generosity of my Facebook friends, colleagues and family. I know times are hard for some of us and totally understand if the bank balance is lower than you might like, but every dollar counts and is appreciated by everyone involved in this mission. Finally... Get out and play with us! Dress warm and remember your beads, crazy shamrock hats and glasses, and just PARTY the afternoon away! Join us downtown at the Romeo Lions' Field House. The restaurants and bars on main street will be celebrating along with us, a parade and bagpipers will kick things off. There are games for the kids, Buffalo Wild Wings will be serving from their excellent menu and I promise it's an event that will change your life. You will laugh. You will cry too. And you will immediately understand why we do this every Spring!
