I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
MESSAGE FROM TEAM CAPTAIN, TRENT MAYER:
I've been shaving my head for many years now. Each year when I sit down to personalize this message, I'm amazed at how many people I know that are impacted by cancer. This year, I'm sad to say that my Grandmother, Marietta Huggard, has been diagnosed with cancer. I am shaving in her honor this year! Although she is not a child, she is an example for children and people of all ages. She is currently undergoing chemo treatments on a regular basis. I know it is tough for her but she never complains. She never feels sorry for herself and she has the most positive attitude. My Gramcracker is the most active Grandmother in the world - she attends all of my sporting events in the summer, travels the world in her spare time and continues to teach and play bridge (a difficult card game). While her cancer has slowed her down for the last few months, I am confident that she'll be back to her old self by the end of the summer. Please everyone say a prayer for my Gramcracker and donate money for childhood cancer research.
