I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
A Cure for Amber
I wanted to do something big for the family and friends I know and love whom are affected by cancer. I asked the mom of a dear 12 year old friend who is fighting cancer if shaving my head would make her daughter smile or laugh. Her daughter smiled. So here I am!
One of the things I thought of was my upcoming 20 year high school reunion and sister-in-law's wedding. I thought of how people would see me with very little hair. Then my thoughts were that when someone is diagnosed with a disease such as cancer they don't get to choose when it happens. They don't get to choose when they lose their hair from chemo. So I'm shaving for all those who didn't and will not get a choice. I'm shaving so that a cure can be found, to honor those whom have passed and to those whom are fighting every day.
