I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

A few years ago, our son Shane complained about a red bump on his shoulder. We had a variety of tests run on it and were sent to Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to have it biopsied. As it turns out, he had developed a condition known as Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, a rare disease that involves abnormal cells derived from bone marrow.

We were sent to the Oncology department at CHOP for treatment were I witnessed firsthand the brave children who came from all over the world to fight cancer. And that is exactly my inspiration for shaving my head. I want to be able to help these kids in any way possible.

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help. Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
