I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Swiss Re Chicago

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Swiss Re Chicago

The last few years I have been approached to be a shavee for this event, and my response has been "Who's going to donate to a guy who's normal haircut involves a #1 on the sides?" Fortunately each year, we've had a good number of volunteers from Swiss Re to help with this cause.

Late in 2013, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after her diagnosis, I decided I was going to shave my head to show her my support. My wife thought it would be a great idea if our son Steven (2) joined me in getting his head shaved as well. Shortly after the thought of shaving my head came the idea of tying it to the St. Baldrick's event (If I'm going to do it, I may as well raise some money for it!)

I have seen first-hand what this has done to my mom, and she was a strong, healthy adult going into it. I cannot fathom the thought of my child, or any child, going through the same thing. So here I am, shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Children's cancers are different from adult cancers, and childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded.
