I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Justin - Our Forever Ninja

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Justin - Our Forever Ninja

Due to unforseen circumstances, I was unable to travel to Denver to shave on March 14 th as planned. I would love a chance to shave here in NYC.My original post follows: Two days ago, January 21, 2014 at 12:51 pm, Justin Miller earned his angel wings and his wish to be a "cancer free boy". Last March, I was blessed with the opportunity to meet Justin and his family and to be a shavee on his team in Denver. I traveled from NJ to be there because I was compelled to meet and support this family I had grown to know and love through CaringBridge and St. Baldrick's. Justin gave me a great honor, despite being a bit worn from the day's activities-- he started my shave with his trademark reverse mowawk. I knew that the brave young man behind me was standing there because he had been blessed to have taken part in medical trials and treatments that had extended his life so he could continue his fight. St. Baldrick's helped fund many of those trials. As I sat there overcome with emotion, I prayed that WHEN I returned in 2014, that the boy with the beautiful eyes and equally giving heart would be there standing behind me, clippers in hand.

Yes, I am returning to shave as a proud member of Justin's team this year, more determined than ever to raise more money, more awareness and pay tribute to my hero Justin.
There are many others who inspire me-- Brooke, Ethan, Julian, Hannah, Ben and so many others. Many are now angels-- Vinny, Bella, Ariel, Daniel, Nicholas, Gabriella--sadly too many to name here.

Here's the bottom line. These kids need your support NOW!! This isn't about the hair on my head that will grow back, it's about getting people to wake up and DO SOMETHING so that these amazing, beautiful children don't have to face this monster anymore. Each day 46 kids are diagnosed, each day 7 earn their angel wings. We CAN and we WILL do better for our greatest resource, our children.
Please donate generously if you are able, and tell a friend and then another. Together, we can do this.
