A year ago, our niece opened our eyes to this wonderful organization and the impact it has on the children affected by cancer. Last year we donated. This year we are shaving our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research. We are new parents and the thought of having a child with cancer is overwhelming. Imagining what these children go through is heartbreaking and we want to be a part of the hope.
Recently, I spent several hours at Children's Hospital. It was a very humbling experience. As I sat in the waiting room, I looked around and saw all these tiny little faces. Beatiful faces. As a parent you try to do everything to better your child's health and well being, but sometimes its bigger than you. Sometimes you can do everything right and still have to watch your child fight for his/her life. I hope and pray that I never feel that helplessness. This experience has really made the message of St. Baldrick's clear to me. I am so honored to be a part of this organization and hope that one day-we no longer need it!!
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. We could really use your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
