I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I have decided to grow out my hair (ha!) so that I can get a close shave to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation. There is a rabbinic family who son has been fighting cancer. I am one of 36 rabbis who will bring attention to the fact that only 4% of United States federal funding for cancer research is earmarked for all childhood cancers and do my part to try to raise $180,000 for this essential research. Rabbis Phyllis and Michael Sommer's son, Sam, has relapsed with AML (acute myelogenous leukemia) and there are no other treatment options for him. That is why I am joining the "36 Rabbis Shave for the Brave" in honor of this family. We can’t save Sammy; perhaps, though, we can save others like him. And spare other parents like Phyllis and Michael from the pain of telling their child that there is nothing that the doctors can do to save his life. So please support my efforts to raise money and I will get as close of a shave as possible. When I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
