I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: CBT Rabbis

For me, this isn't about Sammy; it's about Sammy's mother, Phyllis. Phyllis Sommer is one of my dearest friends. And she recently had to tell her young son that there are no other treatment options available to save his life. No mother should have to have that conversation with her child. In October, Phyllis and I thought we could get a group of our rabbinical colleagues to shave their heads and raise money and awareness. Two weeks after we hatched this plot, Phyllis and her husband, Michael, learned that Sammy had relapsed. 36 Rabbis Shave for the Brave is the result of that initial conversation. As the organizers, our friend, Elizabeth Wood, and I are the co-organizers, main supporters, activity directors, and head cheerleaders of an amazing group of righteous rabbis. We aren't shaving our heads; we're too busy being mitzvah facilitators. Please support me! Or support one of my colleagues. It's not a competition. Just support our cause. With head-shaving and other fundraising events, this volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail.
