I've answered the call to be a hero! I will be shaving my head on June 8 to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Why do I feel so strongly about this issue? My amazing parents who were foster parents died of cancer. They opened their home to abused and abandoned children and gave them a chance for a normal, healthy life. To honor their memory I am donating my time and energy to raise money for the fight against cancer. How can you help? By donating - and if I reach my fundraising goal of $10,000, I will shave off my long red hair!
You can donate to St. Baldrick's Foundation, which is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. All donations must be posted by June 8.
And to all my fellow hairdressers out there, we need help with the actual shaving. Do you have the time to donate? Let me know if you are interested. Also let me know if you would like to raise money on your own and/or in my head-shaving team! I would love the company -
