I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hey y'all, So I know this seems last minute, but I just recently am coming off an "anti-facebook" period just for this. Those of you who I talk to most know that I have been wanting to do this for a while. I have chosen to "Brave the Shave" and shave my head in order to physically and financially show support for those who suffer/have suffered from cancer. My motivation for shaving my head came from when my best friend Angie Avera was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma this past summer. When you hear one of your best friends has cancer, it's hard to feel anything but helpless. Angie however, has made me insanely proud as she's braved through all of her surgeries and treatments in the past 10 months without even having the slightest chip on her shoulder. If she can do that, then I can do more too, and this is the best way I know how. I'm hoping that you, my friends, will help "fund" me shaving my head, and donate to the St.Baldrick's Foundation, which supports research and treatment for children suffering from cancer. I have set my goal low, since I've waited until somewhat last minute to create this page and I'm mostly asking poor college students, but if even half of my facebook friends donated $5, we could easily raise over $2,000. So for whatever reason I can convince you, whether you're passionate about fighting cancer or want to show support for a loved one that has suffered from it, or because you just want some good karma. Please donate, because it's important to me, and it's important to kids who have cancer.
